Pour cacher l’alignement du prix du Kindle International sur celui du Nook, soit 259$ (cf. Le Kindle International à 259$ !), et la disparition du modèle US, Amazon annonce aujourd’hui l’arrivée prochaine d’une application Kindle pour Windows. Avec ce programme, vous pourrez lire l’ensemble des livres et journaux disponibles dans votre bibliothèque Amazon. Grâce au Whispersync, vos notes, marques-pages et la dernière page lue est mémorisée entre votre Kindle, votre iPhone (avec l’application Kindle for iPhone) et votre PC. Visiblement, la lutte va être acharnée entre Amazon et Barnes&Noble. En effet, cette dernière dispose déjà d’une application de lecture pour PC et pour Mac (ce qui n’est pas le cas pour celle d’Amazon) capable de lire les ebooks achetés sur B&N.

Pour l’instant, l’application ne sera téléchargeable que le mois prochain. Elle sera accessible quelque soit votre lieu de résidence. Si vous avez acheté un Kindle depuis la France, vous pourrez l’utiliser ! Nous ne nous priverons pas de la tester dès sa sortie.

L’application “Kindle for PC” a été présentée en avant-première lors de conférence de presse pour la sortie de Windows 7. Steve Ballmer, le PDG de Microsoft, en a profité pour montrer à quel point cette application était efficace sur un ordinateur équipé de Windows 7 et d’un écran tactile. Le multitouch étant supporté sur le nouveau système de Windows, la navigation dans l’application Kindle est beaucoup plus intuitive.
